Timothy Kindem – “Shane is already the finest acupuncturist I’m aware of, and yet his dedication to the constant pursuit of mastery in his craft is inspiring and the sign of a true professional. I refer anyone I know in need of acupuncture to him.”
Bonnie Connolly, Minneapolis, MN
As a nurse practitioner I was skeptical about Chinese medicine and acupuncture but now I am a believer in how these ancient traditional medical practices can have a profound positive effect on my health. Shane has a wisdom and sensitivity beyond his years. I’d highly recommend him.
Cindy Luomo – “Dr. Shane is AMAZING! In just two short weeks, I can’t believe how much better I feel. I have been dealing with cervical disc issues 6 months; neck and arm pain constantly. After only 2 sessions I felt tremendous pain relief; 2 sessions vs 4 months PT…sums it up for me. PT did so little for me, and therapists were stumped when the Mackenzie method wasn’t helping me progress; and I was frustrated. My Mayo Clinic Dr.

“I am so grateful to have met Shane, he has helped me with several acute and chronic pain issues. I started seeing him for a problem with pain in my low back and shooting down my leg, which was resolved with acupuncture. He has also helped with a herniated disc, headaches, arthritic knees, and even pain from a root canal! It has been so wonderful to have this pain just melt away with acupuncture.
The acupuncture itself was unlike anything I had ever experienced

“I began going to Shane Berquist after finding out that acupuncture has helped many people with sleeping problems such as insomnia, of which I am a sufferer. I had gone to sleep specialists, received therapy, been prescribed medication, and self medicated to try to deal with my insomnia, and all of it was met with limited success. I was willing to try anything, although I was skeptical of acupuncture.
My first meeting with Shane showed him to be professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I began receiving treatments two-three times per week, and although I was not “cured,” my sleep did improve. I looked forward to my treatments during the week, and Shane was always willing to answer any questions that I had, speak to any concerns that I was feeling, and he kept a very good mental record of how I was doing from week to week and month to month.
The acupuncture itself was unlike anything I had ever experienced. My best description of it is an active trance, wherein I never felt incapacitated or not in control, but still incredibly relaxed and conscious that my body and mind we being stimulated to heal themselves, which I learned is the purpose of acupuncture. As Shane explained to me, and it makes sense to me, the body wants to heal itself. That is why when we get cuts, they eventually scab over if they are taken care of. It is why we vomit if we have food poisoning or why our temperature increases in an attempt to kill viruses. Acupuncture helps to stimulate the body’s natural defenses against what is ailing us, and in my case, it helped to relax me when I was anxious about my insomnia, and it helped me to get a handle on my nightly sleep.
For the past 5 months I have slept better than I have in two years. I have the occasional restless night, but they are not the pattern that they were for so long. I am grateful to Shane Berquist for his help.”
